Paul's Story

Hi Family and friends Paul here and i am a grateful alcoholic

never thought i would be grateful to be an alcoholic but thru this program and gods grace i was given life

fought this disease for years and just couldn't stay sober

tried every thing they said wouldn't work to prove them wrong

but we all know where that got me drunk again

had a number of years sober and went back out for some more research so u wouldn't have to

made it back by a friendly police man

i am grateful to the man today for it got me back on course

this room is a very special place to me

came here october 15 2003 wouldn't speak or share would just sit here

people here helped me to come out of that shell

they got me to share when i feared sharing

they got me into service work here in room

the encouraged and supported me

gave me the swift kick in butt i needed

they knew what i needed when i didn't

and i thank god for them and all of u

my ego would want me to say i did it on my own

but fact is i need each person here

and its thanks to God for bringing me here to this room

we are all brought here for a reason

and thats to help each other

thru working the steps we grow

we find that person with us that we lost so long ago

Thanks truly goes to this fellowship aa all of u and my higher power who i call god

today i live aa

it is part of everyday life

helps to make it thru those rough times

Thanks God AA and all of u for life today

for with out any of those things i would not be here today
