Geoff's Story
Hello, my name is Geoff and i am an alcoholic.
It was the night of August 14, 1993, somewhere around 10:30 p.m., that I vividly remember pouring my last rum and Diet Pepsi down the sink.
That ended some 35 years of steady drinking for this alcoholic.
August 14th may have marked 13 years since I quit drinking.
But you know, it doesn't really matter whether it's 13 years,
or 13 months, or 13 weeks, or even 13 hours . . .
the point is, I only do my sobriety one day at a time.
All I have is today.
And while I try to make as many f2f meetings through the week as I can,
it is here, in this room with you guys, that I get my daily nourishment in AA.
You people are the reason I keep coming back, and listening, and sharing, and providing service if I can
to keep my Alcoholics Anonymous message alive and well.
I thank you for that, and I promise to keep practicing my AA program
one day at a time.
Thanks for helping me celebrate, and letting me share GA
