Gary/Amos's Story
Good
evening, Family. My name is Gary/Amos and I am a grateful but slowly
recovering alcoholic. I'm only sober today by the grace of God and
the Fellowship of AA and you people in these rooms
when this
journey started 21 years ago. I never thought I would be celebrating
21 years of sobriety, the longest I could put together was four years
at a stretch. But something happened this time around, I hit my
bottom. It was either
get sober or go to prison or a mental
institution or die them so three choices I had that or get sober stop
drinking and start by going to AA. And here I am 21 years later,
celebrating 21 years of sobriety
this program of Alcoholics
Anonymous is a fantastic program. When I first came back. I had
two sponsors, and they were hard. They had been there and done
everything I had
they said, it's not going to be easy, and more
not going to promise you a Rose Garden, neither
the only thing
they said was, we have a solution to your problem. If you are willing
to work for it, both my sponsors has passed away, but I am sure that
they are both watching me right now. And I can just see and hear
them. We told you, you could make it if you followed suggestions, and
here I am are followed suggestions. I listened I learned, and I
listen more, and I learned more. I am still
learning today, this
is ongoing program, and I will be learning until the day that I leave
this world and join my fellow AA members in heaven
Thank you all
for my sobriety, and for 21 years of a great life. There's been hard
times. There's been some bad times, but most of all. There's been
good times. Thank you for my sobriety today, and that's all I have is
today. God bless you all.
